PROJECT SPECIFICS:
Underslung ARAMAX® 4700m2
1.0mm ZINCALUME® steel

The Project

The refurbishment of the Singleton Regional Livestock Market has been in the works since 2014. The $7.73 million upgrade included recycled water tanks, external lighting, swinging gates, signage, hydraulic services, water troughs, fences, an access road, fire services, electrical services, and a brand-new roof.

With a brief to reduce the amount of structure including frame and columns over the existing saleyard footprint, Fielders were engaged by Wiley & Co to construct the roof, which sits over the selling yards. The roof upgrade, coupled with other ongoing improvements, will not only improve livestock wellbeing and onsite functionality, it will allow the saleyard to be repositioned in the marketplace to attract new agents and increase stock levels.

The Process

Working in co-ordination with a 2-stage steel erection program to ensure the saleyard could continue to operate, the underslung ARAMAX®  fixing methodology was most suited to the design. The Fielders Mobile Mill was on-site to rollout the product and assure efficient project completion. Working within allowed timeframes and within site set down areas, the onsite manufacturing capability allowed greater exibility in working with the builder and roofing contractor to meet the required criteria and exceed expectations.

The Solution

Fielders worked closely with Steve Moylan from Arkhill Engineers, National Roofing and Wiley & Co to install the roofing solution. 4700m2 of ARAMAX® was used to cover the expansive roof area. Whilst providing uninterrupted shade for the livestock, the new roof can catch an impressive amount of water, creating a sustainable advantage for the saleyard. For each millimetre of rain received, 5000 litres of water is distributed to the onsite water tanks which will then be used as livestock drinking water.

Fielders ARAMAX®, part of Fielders’ Platinum Portfolio Architectural Range, was an excellent choice for a project of this scale due to the product’s unique on-site manufacturing capabilities, unrivalled spanning capability and superior water carrying properties. This made ARAMAX® the perfect solution for the Livestock Market project.
